The Ceylon Bible Society Staff Retreat was held on 2nd March 2022 on Ash Wednesday at the “Subodhi” Piliyandala. Rev. Fr. Prasad Harshan, Director of Priestly Formation & Vocations, Archbishop’s House, Colombo was our Guest Speaker.
The Retreat started with a Praise and Worship by the CBS staff.
The Guest Speaker conducted the program on the topic “Firm as a Rock” which was broken into four sections. It was a spiritually inspirational program which was also motivating. He took us through the subject of “Are we stones of faith, or are we spiritually pure” and explained it very clearly to us, including; what is a stone and how to be a stone which is spiritually fit and much more.
Initially, were in a state of confusion and there were so many questions in our minds. then he gave us a clear explanation for it.
We were called to be the dust. If we become dust, we can definitely be spiritually fit stones.
Moreover, to achieve that we need to erase every evil thought and action in our hearts, and only then we can enter into God’s presence.
We take this occasion to thank the Preacher, Rev. Fr. Prasad Harshan, Director of Priestly Formation & Vocations, Archbishop’s House, Colombo for sharing God’s word with us.
The program was concluded with a Vote of Thanks and Closing Prayer by Rev. Priyantha Wijegoonawardena, General Secretary of the Ceylon Bible Society.
