The Healing the Wounds of Adults Trauma Convening Session was organized by the Ceylon Bible Society on 6th of March at Christ Church, Ingiriya gathering 31 women from the Church Women’s Fellowship.
We are very thankful to the main resource Facilitator Mrs. Pathmaseeli Gunethilake, Master Facilitator in HWOT Classic (Adult) who conducted this healing session successfully. At the end of this Session, women shared their personal stories, testimonies, and life experiences with us.
A daughter explained her feelings and emotions for the mother who she had lost recently. How the mother cooked her meals and fed her and cared for her.
Some told us how their feelings cannot be suppressed. However much they try to hide their feelings, they tend to come out at some time or another. This was clearly expressed with the illustration that was done by floating plastic balls with feelings written on them and then plunged into a basin of water. However, much you try to keep them all down, at least one or two will keep popping up.
A mother told us the story of how her daughter went missing in the night when they were returning home by trishaw. The trishaw had some problem and couldn’t proceed further and the mother went to find another leaving the daughter behind. But when she returned she found the daughter missing. She was so worried and panicked, and ultimately, she found her and rejoiced.
There were others who related incidents of trying to solve the problems of others, and also the pain that they had. This was also a way of healing the trauma that their neighbors or relatives or friends were going through.
