Healing the Wounds of Trauma Children’s camp, Nainamadama, Negombo
“After attending this programme I have realized that how much Jesus loves me”… This was a testimony given by a girl who attended to this children’s camp. Emotional abuse is more harmful than the physical abuse. Her life had been changed after she received the Word of God through the Scriptures during this healing programme.
Mrs. Pathmaseelie Gunetilake , Master Facilitator of Children’s Wounds of Trauma, Rev. Fr. Lester C. Wijesooriya , Ms.Sherini Mineka Marambe ,Training Facilitators of Children’s Wounds of Trauma & Assistant apprentice Facilitator Ms. Supuni conducted this camp for the 26 young girls in the “St. Joseph Vaz Children’s Home , Nainamadama” which is governed by the Roman Catholic Chilaw Diocese. This camp was held from 17th to 19th of May 2019. This children’s camp is specially designed for the children’s who are undergone in different traumatic situations.
The Ceylon Bible Society staff members attended in the commencing and certification awarding ceremony to encourage the facilitators as well as the children. The Ceylon Bible Society provided all the materials and Holy Bibles were gifted to the children at the commencing of this programme and end of this programme children were gifted certificates of participation.
