A significant message was shared by Rev. Fr. Claude N. Nonis, National Director- Archdiocesan Family Apostolate & the member of the General Council of CBS during the Dedication Service of the Ceylon Bible Society held on Saturday, 12th January, 2019 at 9.30 am at the Church of South India (CSI Church), No – 17, Frances Road, Colombo 06. ( Wellawatte). The Bible reading was taken from Ephesians 5 :21 – 33. The Ceylon Bible Society has dedicated this year for the “Parents”.
Service began with the opening hymn “Sarvalogathi ba Namaskaram”. The opening prayer was done by Rev.V.Pathmathyalan Parish Priest-Church of South India and Area Minister of Colombo. The Bible reading was taken from Ephesians 5:21-33 in all three languages by the staff of CBS. The welcome address was done by the President of the CBS Mr. Eraj Wijesinghe . The Dedication Prayer for the CBS Staff was done by Rev. Rohitha De Silva the Chairman of Central District Methodist Church of Sri Lanka .The Offertory hymn “Bara wemi mema obe athata” was sung by the CBS staff along with the congregation. Fr. Joshua Ratnam, Parish Priest, Holy Trinity Church offered the intersession and offertory prayer. During the dedication service the Books of Jonah and Zechariah were launched in an Audio format and was prayed over by Rev. Lasantha Godakumbura Pastor of Calvary church Ragama. This is part of the “Talking Bible project’’ recordings made especially for those who are blind and those who cannot read. This CD contains the full book of Jonah and Zechariah the entire book is recorded according to the Bible text.
The Closing prayer and Benediction was offered by Rev.Priyantha Wijegoonawardena, General Secretary of the CBS. ” Devide oba saminde” was sung as the closing hymn.
