The Ceylon Bible Society conducted an initial and advanced training sessions in the years 2015 and 2016 in partnership with the Trauma Healing Ministry unit of the American Bible Society to train facilitators in the implementation of this program called “Healing the Children’s Wounds of Trauma.” Also, Trauma Healing Program for Adults is the other program meant to help adults to cope up with their traumatic situations. We are happy to note that these programmes have been effective in helping children and adults to come out of their trauma.

Once again, the Ceylon Bible Society organized the above programme from Sunday, 27th August to Monday, 4th September, 2017 at the “Subodhi Centre for Integral Education” Piliyandala with the participation and supervision of Director, Children/Teen Trauma Healing – American Bible Society. This programme includes three days of theory and five days of practical sessions with children who have gone through trauma.

This year three facilitators were recognized and certified as the Master Facilitators in Healing the Wounds of Trauma in Sri Lanka.
1. Rev. Fr. P. Claude N. Nonis- Director- Archdiocesan Family Apostolate
2. Rev. Fr. Jude Anthony Peries – Director- Archdiocesan Lay Apostolate
3. Mrs. Pathmaseeli Gunathilaka – Sunday school Teacher, St. Peter’s Church, Koralawella, Moratuwa.

And two facilitators were certified as the Master Facilitator in training in healing the Wounds of Trauma in Sri Lanka.

There were 28 participants attended in this programme and they were recognized and certified as the Apprentice Facilitators in Children’s trauma healing.
