The “Light of the World Speech Contest” Organized by the Wendy Whatmore Academy of Speech & Drama & Sponsored by the Ceylon Bible Society. This competition which was started in the year 1986 was the brainchild of the late Mrs. Wendy Whatmore. This year was a significant year for the competition as it is celebrated 30 years.
On 9th July 2016 the Final contest was held at the Bible House Auditorium at 5.00 pm. The Chief Guest was Mr. Andrew Fowler-Watt, Principal of the Trinity College, Kandy. The overall Winner of the contest is Ms. Lavanya De Mel.
